Canal Bank B&B policies
Check-in:
Between 4.30pm and 7.00pm (prior to that we are doing chores or
in town on the daily provision run). If you cannot come until
later, do let us know in advance so that we do not make any arrangements
for that evening.
Checkout:
By 10.30am please as a small B&B we do not employ staff
so we have to get the entire house ready for the next arrivals
believe us, there is a lot more involved than you may think!
Payment:
By cash or sterling cheque (made payable to Canal Bank) please,
although the room booking may be secured with debit or credit
card details if this is easier for you.
Smoking:
We are very sorry but Canal Bank is an entirely non-smoking home.
Pets:
Only in exceptional circumstances can be allow pets, with only
a small number of rooms we cannot allocate one for people with
pets only and sadly, allergies are a problem these days.
Children:
Unfortunately, our rooms are not suitable for children; we also
have a canal, a river and un-fenced pond in very close proximity!
Cancellation: If,
through unforeseen circumstances, you are obliged to cancel your
booking between 14 and 28 days prior to your visit, we will defer
your deposit for a future booking with us. If you have to cancel
your booking 14 or less days prior to the visit, we will have
to charge the full amount unless we can re-let the room. It is
not always easy for us to re-let as we work on a bookings
only basis and are off the beaten track and,
therefore, unable to attract passers by.
Insurance: In common
with all accommodation providers we strongly recommend that you
take out holiday insurance just in case you are forced to change
your plans.
If you have any queries at
all please call either of us Peter or Barbara and we will
do our best to help.
Dont forget to bring
the directions with you, as we are a little difficult to find!

Access Statement - Canal
Bank Bed & Breakfast Establishment
Canal Bank is now three combined,
local-stone built cottages, which have been sympathetically modernised
to provide quality accommodation with a touch of style and luxury.
It is on the level towpath with level access to the centre of
Brecon with its shops, historic buildings and excellent restaurants.
There is level access directly
from the front door (we will take your luggage) to a comfortable
sitting room with slate floors and into the breakfast room which
is carpeted. Our bedrooms, however, are on the first floor via
a widened, turned oak staircase which has 12 carpeted treads and
a solid right-hand oak handrail.
Helpful additions have been
incorporated into the spacious bedrooms such as:
v Touch lights with extra
moveable fittings.
v Bright halogen lighting in bathrooms and breakfast room.
v Sockets in plenty and at accessible height.
v Comfortable bedroom chairs with rigid upholstered arms.
v Air-spa baths for arthritic complaints and aching muscles.
v Grab rails by baths.
v Easy-turn taps.
v Bathroom stools.
v Torches for night-time strolls.
v Night-lights for bedrooms on request.
v Large-print menus and room information.
v Reading glasses and magnifying glass available.
v Booking services for taxis, restaurants, activities and activities
available for special needs.
v Accessible tourist information and advice from hosts.

we, your hosts, are willing to assist in any way possible to make
your stay as comfortable and satisfying as possible.
